"Life is tragic simply because the earth turns and the sun inexorably rises and sets, and one day, for each of us, the sun will go down for the last, last time". James Baldwin We wrote our song, “Now we are Old” when we were able to put up shelves and dance in the street, sleep in a tent and sail in a small boat. Now that Ian is 92, blind and frail, Julia is dealing with arthritis, cataracts and rotten teeth, we have begun to face our mortality, manage our addictions, live with sight loss, frailty, brain fog, incontinence.... and find ways to care for each other and make each precious day worth living. How are we doing this?
